KARACHI: Police on Wednesday fired water cannon, teargas shells and baton charged the Pakistan Quarters’ residents who have been protesting against eviction orders.

A woman reportedly died owing to suffocation caused by tear gas shelling by the police officials.

As per details, a large number of the residents of the colony, including women, took to the streets against police action to evict them from the federal government quarters on the directives of the Supreme Court.
