Human Rights Watch Claims Palestinian Authorities Routinely 'Arrest & Torture' Critics

According to the Human Rights Watch, Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and Gaza have engaged in a systematic crackdown on dissent, including the use of torture that could be considered a crime against humanity. CNN reports that Omar Shakir, Israel-Palestine director for HRW, said, "We documented dozens of cases of people detained for a Facebook post, for writing a critical article in a mainstream publication, for protesting, for being involved with the wrong group or movement.
