Nevada to tax more online purchases

State rules that took effect Oct. 1 mandate that online retailers without a physical presence in Nevada must collect and pay sales tax. In Clark County, that means an additional 8.25 percent on certain online sales. Brick-and-mortar retailers hope this evens the playing field with online companies that have ignored sales taxes.
