The U.S. Senate has summoned top executives from the U.S. units of Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors to testify at a hearing on reports of engine fires involving Korean automobiles
Reuters reports that the Senate Commerce Committee's request for the November 14th hearing comes as over 100 fire complaints have been filed with the Center for Auto Safety since mid-June,... that led to a recall of nearly three million vehicles.
The committee explained the hearing also aims to examine ways to mitigate engine fires and promptly responded to defects that may lead to vehicle fires.
