According to Reuters, Egypt has called for a transparent investigation into the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and has warned against the case being used to politically exploit Saudi Arabia. In a statement the Egypt foreign ministry said, “Egypt stresses the importance of revealing the truth of what happened in a transparent investigation." According to the statement, the country said it is monitoring developments “with concern” and has supported Saudi Arabia’s efforts to deal with the situation.
