According to a report by Reuters, Hong Kong officials are taking a tough line on perceived national security threats, deploying an elite police unit for political monitoring and surveillance. In the last few months, Hong Kong has banned the National Party, which promotes separation from China, in addition to barring some activists from participating in local elections.
