Anguilla played the first match in the 2018/20 Concacaf Nations League qualifying with a 5 - 0 home defeat to French Guyana at a crowded Raymond E.G. Guishard Stadium in the Valley on Friday. The tournament kicked off its first round of matches this weekend. The 34 team league includes teams from across the region. In an unconventional qualification format each team will play 4 matches 2 home and 2 away against opposition drawn. This first stage will determine the seeding for the group stage and ultimate qualification for the Concacaf Gold Cup. Governor Foy, Chief Minister Victor Banks and colleagues met the home team and training staff after the match.
