Former Secretary of State Colin Powell sharply criticized President Trump during a Sunday appearance on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS."
When asked by host Fareed Zakaria if Trump can be a moral leader for the world, Powell replied: "I don't know that he can do that because right now that is not the way he is acting."
"My favorite three words in our Constitution is the first three words -  'We the People,' 'We the People.' But recently it's become 'me the president,' as opposed to 'We the People,' and you see things that should not be happening," Powell added.
As an example, Powell pointed out Trump's attacks on the media, referring to reporters as "the enemy of the people."
"Has he read the First Amendment? You're not supposed to like everything the press says," Powell said.
Trump's tweets on the topic include, "Why was the FBI giving so much information to the Fake News Media. They are not supposed to be doing that, and knowing the enemy of the people Fake News, they put their own spin on it - truth doesn't matter to them!" and, "Much of our news media is indeed the enemy of the people."  He also stated in July: "The Summit with Russia was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media."
