After Pompeo's North Korea Visit, Trump Says He Looks Forward To Seeing Kim Jong Un ‘In The Near Future'

President Trump tweeted Sunday that he's looking forward to seeing Kim Jong Un "in the near future."

President Trump on Sunday said he looks forward to seeing North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un "in the near future."
He made the comment on Twitter after writing: "[Secretary of State Mike Pompeo] had a good meeting with Chairman Kim today in Pyongyang. Progress made on Singapore Summit Agreements!"
According to CNN, Pompeo met with Kim for two hours Sunday then flew to South Korea where he described the interaction as a "good, productive conversation."
The talk is believed to be part of the lead-up to a potential second summit between Trump and Kim.
The first occurred in June, but relations between the U.S. and North Korea have faltered since then due to questions over the regime's follow through on promises to denuclearize.
When Trump was asked about the need for a second summit with Kim during a press conference in late September, the president responded simply, "because he'd like it."
Trump later said about Kim: "We have a very good relationship. He likes me. I like him. We get along. He wrote me two of the most beautiful letters….And I think we're going to make a deal."
