The Senate Invoked Cloture On Kavanaugh Nomination

The Senate has voted 51 to 49 to close debate on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
Broadcasting Cable reports the voted paved the way for a senate confirmation vote.
The vote on his nomination will take place on Saturday.
The vote came after impassioned speeches from both sides.
Democrats said Kavanaugh was unfit for the seat.
Republicans saying he had been the subject of a hit job planned by Democrats from the outset.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel (R-Ky.) called it a disgraceful spectacle.
He characterized the various allegations of sexual misconduct as a "Keystone Cops" operation.
