On Friday afternoon, October 5, Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s brother Marc was sentenced to 24 months behind bars.
The sentencing came just before Mike himself learned of his own fate.
In addition to jail time, Marc will also have to pay restitution, though the amount is still unknown. He is also required pay a fine of $75,000 within 30 days.
Even after his prison sentence is up, he will supervised for a year.
Back in September 2014, the Sorrentino siblings were indicted for conspiring to defraud the US. They failed to pay the necessary taxes on the almost $9 million income they made from 2010 to 2012.
Last year, they were then indicted on additional charges — structuring and falsifying records and tax evasion.
While Mike plead guilty to tax evasion back in January, his brother pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a false and fraudulent tax return.
