FDA Seizes Thousands of Documents From Juul at Surprise Inspection The FDA took the documents related to the company’s marketing practices from its
San Francisco HQ. Commissioner Scott Gottleib calls teen use of the vaping devices an “epidemic.” Juul CEO Kevin Burns said the vape company walked the FDA through "every part"
of its business. That included its marketing practices and age-verification tools used on its online shop. Juul has been under the FDA’s microscope this year with e-cigs becoming popular among teens. The number of high school students who've used such products in the past 30 days is up by about 75%. That means roughly 3 million, or about 20% of high school kids, are using e-cigarettes.
