Floridians Sickened By Toxic Algae Force Beach Closures
  • 6 years ago

Florida wildlife officials say a toxic red tide algae bloom has spread to the state's eastern shores.
The Huffington Post reports the tide has already killed tons of marine life along Florida’s southwest coast.
Some of the species affected by the rare development include manatees, sea turtles and dolphins.
Local residents complained of respiratory, skin, and eye irritations on Saturday.
Palm Beach County has issued a health advisory and has shut down its local beaches.
