Protests tear through the southern Russian republic of Ingushetia after the region lost 5 percent of its territory to the neighbouring republic of Chechnya.

The filmer said these particular territories were rich in natural resources, and that territorial disputes have been ongoing.

"People blocked the main entrance to the capital," they said, adding that there have been historic issues relating to the loss of land, especially during WWII-era deportations to Siberia.

They also mentioned several civillian deaths in 1992, after the breakup of the breakup of the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
