'Was asked to file false rape case', says Meerut woman slapped by cops

A video went viral in which a woman was seen being abused and slapped by cops for being friend with a Muslim man. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. The video has caused widespread criticism on social media, where the police were lambasted for their remarks and misbehaviour with the woman. Three police personnel, including head constable Salek Chand, constable Neetu Singh and a woman constable Priyanka, have been suspended.
