Golden Globe Race (GGR) skipper and Indian Naval officer, Commander Abhilash Tomy was rescued from South Indian Ocean, approximately 1900 nautical miles from Perth, Australia. He was rescued on Monday after he got dismasted and suffered a back injury. “Tomy rescued safely,” tweeted the Navy spokesperson on Monday.
