Democratic Congressional Candidate In Florida Passes Away

According to Reuters, April Freeman, a Florida Democrat running for the U.S. House of Representatives has died a little more than six weeks before the November elections. The 54-year-old Freeman, who also worked as a writer and producer in the film industry, died of an apparent heart attack. She was due to face Republican state Senator Greg Steube in the November 6 elections. Freeman won a nominating contest earlier in 2018 to secure a place on the ballot.
