MUNISING, MICHIGAN — A California woman met her untimely demise after trying to take the perfect snapshot on a picturesque cliff.

The Marquette Mining Journal reports that 32-year-old Sunnyvale resident Tu Thanh Nguyen was hiking solo in Michigan's Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore when she stopped for a photo op near a cliff along the North Country trail.

While taking a selfie, Nguyen got too close to the edge and fell 200-feet off the cliff- straight into Lake Superior.

Two kayakers witnessed the nasty plunge and rushed to her aid. They retrieved her from the water and brought her back to shore, but the poor woman didn't make it.

The National Park Service has deemed the incident an accident, and have already notified Nguyen's family.
