Polls are closed in the Maldives in a pivotal presidential election. CNN reports that the election is considered a test of the island nation's democracy.
It pits incumbent President Abdulla Yameen against opposition party candidate and member of Parliament Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Yameen has been accused of cracking down on dissent and jailing opposition leaders.
