The image shows Douglas Thomas, who worked as a cameraman for the network, standing knee-deep in the floodwaters of 2008's Hurricane Ike while host Anderson Cooper is submerged to his hips. She is not the only one to speak out against the photo, which, as it made the rounds, was identified by some as a picture from Hurricane Florence and used to accuse Cooper of reporting fake-weather-news. Cooper issued a lengthy response on Monday, explaining that he was, at the time, showing how deep the flood water from Hurricane Ike was in some places. "I don't expect the president's son to ever admit he was wrong or one of the president's former advisers or frankly anyone else who's retweeted these pictures," he also commented.
