Lindsey Graham Suggests Kavanaugh Accuser Ford’s Testimony Won’t Change His Vote

Senator Lindsey Graham has indicated that the testimony of the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault will likely not be enough to change his vote.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has indicated that the testimony of the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault will likely not be enough to change his vote.
During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," host Chris Wallace asked Graham if he has an open mind about Christine Blasey Ford's allegation after the South Carolina lawmaker continued to express doubt about her side of the story.
Graham responded: "I want to listen to her, but I'm being honest with you and everybody else….What am I supposed to do? Go ahead and ruin this guy's life, based on an accusation. I don't know when it happened, I don't know where it happened, and everybody named in regard to being there said it didn't happen. I'm just being honest. Unless there's something more, no, I'm not going to ruin Judge Kavanaugh's life over this."
He added: "But she should come forward, she should have her say. She will be respectfully treated….What do you expect somebody to do with an accusation this vague, not verified in any way. Bring it forward, I will listen. But I'm not going to play a game here and tell you this will wipe out his entire life 'cause if nothing changes, it won't with me."
Graham has been outspoken about his support of Kavanaugh and even indicated in a statement that Dr. Ford's request for an FBI investigation was a tactic to push the confirmation vote to after the midterm elections.
As for Dr. Ford's testimony, the New York Times is reporting that she is tentatively set to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday to discuss her allegation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school.
