Delivery drivers protest outside Uber headquarters over pay

Delivery drivers working for Uber Eats have staged a large protest stopping traffic outside the company's headquarters in Aldgate this afternoon (September 20).

The protest that started at 2:00pm and made its way to the East London office on Commercial Road, citing a dispute over pay. The police were called and the road was blocked by hundreds of the demonstrators.

Following a wage cut per delivery of up to half, drivers have been refusing to log into their work accounts or deliver any food.

The filmer said: "There have been clashes with police and Aldgate Tower, which houses Uber, has been put on lockdown."
