A huge crowd attended the funeral of Mohammad Abu Naji, a 34-year-old Palestinian who was, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, shot dead by Israeli forces.

Footage captured today (September 20) shows a group of men carrying the wrapped-up body as they walk in the streets of Beit Lahia surrounded by a crowd of people waving Palestinian flags.

Naji was shot on Tuesday when taking part in a protest near Erez against cuts in funding by the United States to the main United Nations refugee agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA.

A second man was also killed by Israeli fire at the protest, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, agencies reported. He has been named as Ahmad Mohammad Omar, 20.

More than 30 others were wounded.
