Storm Helene bears down on Cornish beach

Overnight gales from Storm Helene have created large waves, battering the coast of Cornwall.

The video, filmed this morning (September 18) shows the popular beach at Pedn Vounder in Porthcurno suffering from a sub-tropical ex-hurricane.

Writes the filmer: "The video shows the much vaunted 'tropical' looking Pedn Vounder beach suffering from a sub-tropical ex-hurricane."

Here. the winds are dropping as the fast-moving low pressure passes over the UK, allowing a beautiful Cornish sunrise to sneak in under the storm clouds.
