Paul McCartney's 'Egypt Station' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 The former 'Beatle' has achieved his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in over 36 years. McCartney's 'Egypt Station' was released September 7 via MPL/Capitol Records. According to Nielsen, it launched with a larger-than-expected 153,000 units in the week ending September 13. The majority of the units were powered by traditional album sales at 147,000 copies sold. The 147,000 copies also gives McCartney his largest sales week for an album in over
10 years. 'Egypt Station' marks the eighth time McCartney has grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. He last led the list for three weeks in 1982 with 'Tug of War.'
