Wondering how Mavic gets their carbon rims to have better braking performance, especially in wet conditions? It's lasers! Though there's no sharks involved, the freakin' lasers to burn the outer layer of resin off the rims, exposing the woven carbon fiber to make direct contact with the brake pad. This creates more friction, and thanks to new brake pads, they have better dry and wet weather performance than any other carbon rim brake wheels we've ridden.
