Man eats 7oz raw onion in record time

A man ate a whole raw onion in the fastest time ever at a competition in southwest England.

Alex Navari set a record time - 45 seconds - at the Newent Onion Fayre in Gloucestershire.

At the event, men are challenged to eat a raw 7oz (0.2kg) onion in the fastest time possible while the women chomp on a smaller 5oz onion.

Lur Equiluz won the women's event, with a time of 1:16secs.
