According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, signs of movement in the US-China trade dispute, in addition to an interest rate hike in Turkey, sent global shares higher as it abated some fears of a potential trade war between the world's two largest economies. Reports that US President Donald Trump's administration had reached out to Beijing for a new round of trade talks helped to rally Asia after several weeks that included the region's longest losing streak since 2000. Reuters reports that Shanghai, Tokyo, Jakarta stocks all gained around 1 percent and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng finished up 2.5 percent as China’s yuan also edged higher.
