And the colonel-level inter-Korean military talks that began Thursday morning ended after 17 hours on Friday... wrapping up just before the crack of dawn.
The marathon session appears to have been successful... with both sides deepening their trust and understanding on the need to reduce tensions along the DMZ.
A South Korean military source said,.... they discussed in detail about how to implement tension-reducing measures,... including the joint recovery of war remains,... mutual disarmament at the Joint Security Area,... and the withdrawal of troops at some guard posts on a trial basis.
The source added that,... in case more discussions are needed prior to the summit,.... the two sides will talk via the western military communication lines.
