Chinese choppers take to the skies at Vostok 2018 drills

Chinese helicopters and planes took part in exercises at Zabaikalsky Krai's Tsugol aerodrome, as show in footage the Russian Ministry of Defence released on Tuesday.

Twenty-five helicopters and six fighter jets arrived at Russia's Eastern Command to take part in Vostok 2018 drills which started on Tuesday.

Six MI-171s, along with nine Z-9 and nine Z-19 helicopters are attending the Russian military exercises.

The Vostok-2018 drills are being held from 11 to 17 September in the Far East of Russia.

According to the Ministry of Defence, around 300,000 troops, 1,000 aircraft, 36,000 armoured vehicles and 80 vessels are to take part in the war games.
