Radhika Apte is a famous Indian film actress and stage performer who is started her career from Pune and works in Bengali, Marathi, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. The actress has a stunning physical appearance that is seamless for the film industry. She kicked off the career journey in the entertainment industry by acting in theatres. Radhika Apte was born on 7 September 1985 in from Pune, Maharashtra, to Pune’s leading neurosurgeon and chairman of Sahyadri Hospital, Dr. Charudutt Apte. She has completed her graduation in Economics and Mathematics from Fergusson College, Pune. While brought up in Pune, Radhika was taught under “Kathak” for eight years. Later doing four movies, she moved to London and studied contemporary dance at London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Radhika met Benedict Taylor in 2011 in London. Since October 2012, the two had been living together for a long time and a registered wedding took place a month before the official ceremony that was said to take place in March 2013.
Radhika Apte appeared for the first time in a small role in the movie Hindi “Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! in 2005, which she did while still in college. Actor Rahul Bose, who had seen Apte performing in the play of Anahita Oberoi, Bombay Black, suggested her name to director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who cast her in his Bengali film “Antaheen” along with Aparna Sen, Sharmila Tagore and Rahul Bose. She played the role of Brinda Roy Menon, a TV journalist, in Antaheen.
The first four 2014 releases of Radhika Apte were Postcard, Pendulum, Legend and Vetri Selvan in four different languages Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, and Tamil. Later on another Marathi film of hers, “Lai Bhaari” was released which was a commercial success, breaking the opening weekend box office record and becoming the highest grossing Marathi movie of all time.
