According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, a powerful earthquake struck Japan's northern island of Hokkaido, killing at least 7 people, triggering landslides and cutting power to 5.3 million residents. The death toll from the 6.7 magnitude quake is expected to rise, as rescue workers search houses buried by landslides. Public broadcaster NHK reports that approximately 33 people remain missing and 300 were injured.
