John McCain died last month, leaving a U.S. Senate seat open in Arizona. According to Reuters, former U.S. Republican Senator Jon Kyl is being looked at to fill the seat. Kyl served with McCain in the Senate and became the Republican whip before retiring in 2013. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey picked Kyl, saying he would be the most prepared to represent Arizona. McCain’s wife Cindy McCain, commented on the pick, calling it a tribute to John.
