Police responded to reports of an armed man at Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego shortly before 7 pm on Sunday (September 2).

According to local media, the suspect had reportedly taken a gun out and fired it three times in the air. Police attempted to subdue him with a taser, and failing that, opened fire.

The man was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
