Judge Clears Spinal Tap To Sue Vivendi For Breach Of Contract

According to Reuters, the creators of This Is Spinal Tap may pursue a fraud claim against Vivendi SA.
The commercial entity Vivendi has owned the 1984 cult film for almost three decades.
On August 28th, US District Judge Dolly Gee in Los Angeles decided that Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, Rob Reiner and Harry Shearer can try to show that Vivendi’s StudioCanal unit breached a 1982 agreement.
That agreement including financing and production of the film, and the distribution of royalties.
