Former Election Commission chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman said he never asked to be made chairperson of the government-appointed Electoral Reform Committee (ERC).

Rashid said he was enjoying his retirement before Pakatan Harapan entrusted him with the duty to deliver electoral reforms.

Rashid was responding to the criticism surrounding his appointment.
