According to Starbucks, the drink was created in a lab, where tasters ate pumpkin pie and then drank espresso to pinpoint the exact tastes to highlight. Since its inception, Starbucks has expanded offerings to include Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee and the Pumpkin Spice Latte Iced Espresso. This year, the company added Pumpkin Spice Cookie Straws and Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee K-Cup Pods.
