High School Football Participation Drops For Second Straight Year

According to Deadspin.com, the annual National Federation of State High School Associations survey of high school athletics has been released. This survey analyzes the participation in organized sports at the high school level. Participation contact football has decreased for the second year in a row by more than 21,000 participants. Executive director of the NFHS Karissa Niehoff has acknowledged the the decline potentially related to growing safety concerns about tackle football.
