Narali bhat ia another traditional, authentic Maharashtrian recipe. Narali bhat is generally made on Shravan pournima or narali pournima. Last year we made narali bhat using gudh. But now we will make narali bhat using sugar for those who don’t like gudh. Do you try this quick and easy recipe at home and drop a comment for me.
Ingredients:
• 2 tsp Ghee
• 3~4 Cloves
• 2~3 Green cardamom
• 1 Cinnamon stick
• 1 cup shredded fresh Coconut
• 1 cup Sugar
• Dry fruits (Almonds, cashew nuts & raisins)
• 1 cup Boiled rice
• Saffron milk (10-12 saffron strands soaked in milk)
Method:
• Heat up ghee in a pan.
• When ghee is enough hot add cloves, green cardamom and
cinnamon stick.
• Fry the whole spices for just few seconds.
• Add shredded fresh coconut and mix well.
• Fry for about 3-4 minutes until the moisture in the coconut is
reduced a little.
• When the coconut dries a little add sugar and mix well.
• Add dry fruits and fry for about 4-5 minutes.
• When the mixture dries a little add boiled rice, saffron milk and
mix well.
• Mix everything well carefully.
• Grains of rice should remain intact.
• Cover and steam on very low heat for about 5-7 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and narali bhat is already.

• Cover and steam on very low heat for about 5-7 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and narali bhat is already.
