This year Vans Shop Riot took over Rockcity skate park in Hull.
With almost 30 British skate stores and more than 120 riders, this was one of the biggest yet!
The main competition saw Shop Riot veterans Black Sheep, of Manchester, cementing themselves a well-earned third place from their usual winning status. Jordan Sharkey, Rob Smith, and Eddie Belvedere went hell for leather pushing them up to a podium finish.
Rollersnakes came through with fresh legs to earn themselves second place on the podium. With best trick winner Joe Hinson, and his teammates, Will Golding and Finley Kirkby, put together consistently gnarly runs throughout the weekend. Notably Finley with a blunt 360 flip out and Joe with the 360 flip lip slide.
Lastly, recent new comers to Shop Riot, Skatewarehouse, managed to destroy the competition holding first place through every round with a barrage of tricks sending them to top place on the podium and bagging £1,500 prize money. Be ready to see Alex Decunha, Aaron Jago & Tobias Moors at the European finals in Milan - well done boys, you smashed it!
Overall, the level of tricks was the highest we’ve ever seen. Rollersnakes rider Joe Hinson took home ‘Nixon Best Trick’ with a 360 flip lip slide down the hand rail, rightly bagging himself a one off personalised Nixon watch. Closely followed by Jordan Sharkey almost landing a kick flip back side over crook on the hand rail just as time ran out.
