for Alleged Rape at Cannes German actress Emma Loman is suing disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein for allegedly raping her at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. The lawsuit states that after the actress first met Weinstein in 2004, he invited her to Cannes to talk about her career. Loman claims that Weinstein's assistant called her up to
30 times a day to convince her to accept the invitation. The actress said that Weinstein was professional at first but then invited her to his hotel room for further discussion. Lawsuit statement, via 'The Guardian' According to The Guardian, Loman also
states in her lawsuit that she "stayed silent"
out of fear that she wouldn't be believed or
that her career would be damaged. Loman claims to have only come forward
now after feeling empowered following the
recent sexual assault and harassment allegations against Weinstein in the fall of 2017. The actress is suing for assault, violation of human
trafficking laws, battery and false imprisonment.
