Government backs ban on third party pet sales
  • 6 years ago
Puppy farms are being targeted in a Government plan to ban the sale of puppies and kittens by pet shops and other commercial dealers. Anyone buying or adopting a pet less than six months old will have to deal directly with the breeder or a rescue centre under the proposed ban. Environment Secretary Michael Gove has said there was a need to “crack-down” on third-party sales which could result in young pets being brought up in “horrendous” circumstances. Report by Blairm.
