Heart-stopping moment five-year-old is left alone on moving motorbike following crash on busy highway

A five-year-old girl was left alone on a speeding motorbike along a busy highway after the motorbike rider crashed into another vehicle and fell to the ground.

The bike rode on for nearly 250 metres on its own, narrowly dodging vehicles including a heavy truck, before hitting a divider and crashing down.

The child, who was flung on a patch of grass, escaped with only a few scratches.

The incredible series of incidents unfolded on a highway near Bangalore in South India on August 19.

Dashcam footage from a passing car captured the moment the motorbike carrying a woman and a child on fuel tank scraped against a scooter. The woman and the rider of the bike fell down, but his vehicle continued *on* its run carrying the girl on its fuel tank.

After the bike crashed, bystanders rushed to help the victims and called the police of Nelamangala station.

The police said the girl and her mother were rushed to a hospital in Nelamangala near Bangalore. The girl and the mother were treated for minor injuries.

The Nelamangala traffic police said they have filed several cases - rash and negligent riding, hit-and-run, riding without helmet - against the unidentified biker.
