Watch: Four killed in Mumbai high-rise fire, 14 rescued

A major fire broke out at the Crystal Tower residential apartments near Hindmata Cinema in Mumbai’s Parel area on Wednesday. People are stranded on the top floors and rescue operations are on.

The top floors and the stairs of the high-rise quickly filled up with smoke from the fire that started on the 12th floor at 8.55 am , fire officials said.

Chief fire officer P Rahangdale said, “There is a lot of smoke on the 12th floor where the fire started, and the floors above. Smoke is logged in the staircase and all exits. Fire fighting and rescue operations are going on.” Eight people were rescued with the help of cranes. Four people were killed and those rescued were sent to KEM hospital for check ups.
