Bakrid is also known as Eid-ul-Zuha or Eid-al-Adha which means the Eid of sacrifice. This festival is celebrated with great joy and fervour all over the world. Eid-al-Adha is celebrated by the Muslim community on the 10th day of the Muslim month of Zul-Hijja. On this auspicious day, the Muslims are supposed to sacrifice a goat and offer prayers at the mosque. This year Eid Al Adha would begin on August 21 evening and will continue on August 22.

ముస్లింలు జరుపుకునే ముఖ్యమైన పండుగల్లో రంజాన్ పండుగ మైదటిదైతే..బక్రీద్ రెండవదిగా నిలిచింది. ముస్లింలు బక్రీద్‌ను ఖుర్భాని పండుగ అని కూడా అంటారు. బక్రీద్ పండుగ రోజు ముస్లిం పవిత్ర స్థలమైన మక్కాలో హజ్ యాత్ర జరుగుతుంది. ముస్లిం సోదరులు జరుపుకునే ముఖ్యమైన పండుగల్లో రంజాన్ పండుగ మైదటిదైతే..బక్రీద్ రెండవదిగా నిలిచింది. ఈద్‌గాలో నమాజు ముగుస్తుంది. అందరినీ చల్లగా చూడమని కోరే దువా ముగుస్తుంది. ఆ తర్వాత ఈద్ ముబారక్ చెప్పుకునే అలాయి బలాయి ముగుస్తుంది.
