Wisconsin counties under flash flood warning as storm hits

Almost all of southern Wisconsin was put under a flash flood watch on Monday afternoon (August 20) as heavy rain pelted down in the city.

This video, shared to Facebook by Megan Kennedy, shows the flooding situation along Mineral Point Road near West Towne Mall.

Madison police said that the department had received reports of flooding at over 40 intersections from commuters. One rescue was conducted along Mineral Point Road, a part of which was shut down on Monday evening.

Warnings were in place overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, with more rain expected throughout the evening.
