Women wrestler Vinesh Phogat created history on Monday by becoming the first Indian woman wrestler to clinch a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018. Vinesh defeated Japan’s Yuki Irie 6-2 in the 50kg category. Speaking after her victory, Phogat said, “I wanted to give my best and win Gold. Entire nation was with me and my hard work paid off. I believed in myself that I could do this. People are with me and if they continue to be, it’ll be good in Tokyo(Olympics 2020)too.”

जकार्ता और पालेमबांग में चल रहे 18वें एशियन गेम्स में पहलवान विनेश फोगाट ने भारत को गोल्ड मेडल दिलाया। विनेश ने महिलाओं की फ्रीस्टाइल 50 किग्रा वर्ग के खिताबी मुकाबले में जापान की पहलवान यूकी इरी को एकतरफा मुकाबले में 6-2 से हराया। मेडल जीतने के बाद विनेश फोगाट ने कहा,"मैं बस अपना बेस्ट देना चाहता था और गोल्ड जीतना चाहता था. मेरे साथ पूरा देश था. साथ ही मेरी मेहनत भी थी. मुझे खुद पर भरोसा था. यही जीत का सिलसिला मैं टोक्यो ओलंपिक में भी बरकरार रखूंगी. आपको बता दें, एशियन गेम्स में कुश्ती में गोल्ड जीतने वाली विनेश देश की पहली महिला पहलवान है.
