Scientists have examined the remains found in the massive sarcophagus in Alexandria, Egypt and say they are those of two men and one woman, ranging in age from roughly 20 to 44 years old.  One of the males had a round hole that was apparently deliberately drilled or carved and had been made long before his death.  It is believed to be a rare Egyptian occurrence of trepanation, a method long used to treat a variety of ills.  The team also found a number of small, delicately decorated gold panels and suggest that the symbols on some of them represent military ranks.  Before the tomb was opened, there were a number of theories about what it held, notes the BBC. Some suggested it housed the long-lost remains of Alexander the Great. Others warned that opening the sarcophagus would unleash a curse, plunging the world into chaos and darkness.
