Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district witnesses flood-like situation

Flood-like situation was witnessed in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. This comes after heavy rains continued to lash the region. Kerala and Karnataka are also battling devastating floods.Torrential rain for the last two days has disrupted normal life in the region. Downpour since last two days has thrown life out of gear. People are facing difficulties in commuting.

According to the Indian Meterological Department (IMD) officials, an upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal and adjoining south coastal Andhra Pradesh persists, which is at 5.8 km above mean sea level. Also, a cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha between 3.1 km and 3.6 km above mean sea level.

Meanwhile, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services and Indian Ocean Forecast System (INDOFOS) has issued high wave alert.
