Deepak Kumar held his nerve to finish second in the 10m air rifle event to give India its first silver medal of the 2018 Asian Games. This was India's third podium finish of the ongoing Games in Indonesia. India had a chance of a double medal in the event but Ravi Kumar finished an agonising fourth to narrowly miss out on a medal. The gold in the event was won by China's Hao Ran Yang with an Asian Games record score of 249.1. Deepak Kumar finished a distant second with a score of 247.7.
